About Us
Two long-time friends,
each wanting to open their own business,
neither realizing that they were looking at the same space...
Conversation quickly became reality when they decided to bring a designer shoe boutique to Baltimore.
Former school teacher, Janie Griffin, and at home mother of four, Emilie Blaze opened The Little Shoebox in August of 2005, to bring sophisticated, unique and gorgeous shoes to Baltimore. Immediately making their mark, customers have been thankful for this much needed addition to the area. The Little Shoebox has been referenced "like a box of chocolates!" "The best thing since Bergdorf's!"
The Little Shoebox offers shoes to a broad fashion conscious crowd with such lines as Bettye Muller, Delman, Anne Klein, Kors, Michael Kors, Etro , Missoni, Rafe, Holllywould, and many more. Janie and Emilie compare and contrast to bring a truly unique collection of fabulous shoes.
Leopard print carpet, pink walls, and an everlasting collection of the newest, chicest, shoes.
What’s not to love?

The Little Shoebox Gives Back
While The Little Shoebox strives to be the pre-eminent name in high-end fashion footwear, it also has a responsibility to the community. For this reason, the store is continually active in charitable endeavors in the Baltimore area, and plans to continue the tradition of "giving back" in the Washington, DC community.
As an example, The Little Shoebox has donated over $50,000 worth of shoes to The Junior League of Baltimore, assisting women in their efforts to build coalitions and take action in their communities.
The Little Shoebox has also donated approximately $25,000 to Suited To Succeed, an organization dedicated to empowering Baltimore area women in their efforts to transition from training programs and unemployment to self-sufficiency by providing free professional clothing and workshops. Emilie and Janie take great pride in knowing that our contributions are assisting women in their pursuit of a better life.
Other charities that The Little Shoebox is actively involved in include:
- Bryn Mawr School
- The Calvert School
- The Cathedral School of Mary Our Queen
- Living Classrooms
- Odyssey School
- The Park School
- Roland Park Country School
